Case study
FytMate: a full fitness platform, designed and shipped end to end
FytMate is our own product — and the clearest picture of how we work. A small senior team took it from a blank repo to a live release on both app stores in under three months, and still designs, builds and operates it today.
- Platform
- iOS & Android
- Stack

- Scope
- Design → build → release → operate
- Status

The product
Structured training without a personal trainer
FytMate builds a training plan around your goal, schedule and equipment, then guides each session, tracks recovery and progress, and handles nutrition alongside it — the things a coach would do, in an app.

Screens from the current build — a new, paid version in active development. What's on the App Store and Google Play today is an earlier, free release.
Scope
What we built
One team owned the whole surface — product design, both mobile apps, the backend, and the store release.
- 60-second guest onboarding and an automatic plan generator
- Guided weekly training plans with an in-workout execution flow
- Exercise library — 300+ exercises with video demonstrations
- Muscle-recovery body map — what's trained vs. recovered
- Progress analytics — consistency heatmap, personal bests, trend charts
- Nutrition — diet plans, macro tracking and a food library
- Offline-first workout logging with automatic background sync
- Subscriptions and paywall (RevenueCat)
- Auth with email, Google and Apple sign-in
- Crash reporting, push notifications and deep links
- Coach connections with in-app audio and video calling
- Full App Store and Google Play submission and release
How we built it
The decisions that mattered
The same judgement calls we'd bring to your build.
One codebase, both stores
Flutter, so a small team ships and maintains iOS and Android together instead of running two parallel native builds.
Supabase over a bespoke backend
Postgres, auth, storage and row-level security out of the box — more product shipped per sprint, and far less infrastructure to operate long-term.
Offline-first workout logging
A set logged in a gym basement can't fail because there's no signal. Sessions save on the device and sync automatically when the network returns.
Shipped in vertical slices
Onboarding, then training, then analytics, then nutrition — each slice usable on its own, so the app went live early and improved in production instead of waiting for "done".
Where it stands
Live, and still shipping
FytMate is free on the App Store and Google Play now — an earlier release — and the same team continues to design, build and run it, with a new, paid version in active development.
- Designed, built and shipped to first store release in under three months
- Live on the App Store and Google Play — 50+ Play Store downloads to date
- 5.0 average from its first App Store ratings
